Chesterton Academy of the Incarnation is excited to announce the hire of Alec MacIsaac as Headmaster! Mr. MacIsaac will serve as Headmaster beginning with the 2023-24 Academic Year.

While attending Thomas Aquinas College, Mr. Alec MacIsaac felt a calling to education and began volunteering at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Santa Paula as a catechism teacher for middle school students and helped run Troops of St George events for boys in the community. Immediately after he began working for a classical charter school network, Great Hearts, in Arizona.
While working for Great Hearts, he has taught a range of ages from 6th grade to 12th grade on a variety of subjects such as history, literature, philosophy, and drama. He has advised several seniors on their capstone project, the senior thesis, and has directed several student retreats and events. He served in various administrative roles including dean of students, instructional coach, safety coordinator, and assistant headmaster. He completed a masters in classical education through the University of Dallas.
His favorite line from Socrates to quote to students is from Plato’s Apology: “It is the greatest good for a man to discuss virtue every day and those other things about which you hear me conversing and testing myself and others…”
He and his wife, Maisie, have three young children, Finnian, Philomena, and James.
Although sad to leave a great community in Arizona, he is excited at the opportunity to work in classical Catholic education alongside the current staff and board members of the Chesterton Academy of the Incarnation.
