From Dr. Thurow:
I am delighted to announce that our little school has just this morning passed a truly significant milestone. We are now officially accredited in the state of Tennessee through the Chesterton Schools network. The network recently became an officially recognized accrediting agency through the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA). We have been undergoing an exhaustive process to earn accreditation this year, and we are proud to be one of the first three schools in the entire nation-wide network to receive this honor!
It has been a long and challenging process, but this is a well-deserved confirmation of the dedicated and thoughtful work of students, families, faculty, and board shaping this institution and this community over the last four years and I want to congratulate you all! Our little family may be humble, but in that very humility you are actually part of the vanguard of Catholic education and the bearers of good news to a nation seeking a deeper, gentler, more beautiful, and more faithful formation for the next generation.
What this means, on the practical side, is that Chesterton Academy of the Incarnation is now a “category 3” school and, amongst other benefits, we will be able to receive Education Freedom Scholarship (EFS) funds for qualifying students. These funds, $7,530 per student this coming year, are already available to be applied towards tuition for students who have used them in the past. Additional recipients, selected by the state from amongst those who applied in February, should be notified in the next few weeks, beginning once the bill is signed by the governor. Chesterton Academy of the Incarnation now appears on the website as a “2026-2027 Registered EFS School” and should soon be possible to select when specifying the school for a recipient (it may take a few days to become active). Please contact the school office if you need any assistance with this process or if you have any questions.
Once again, this is wonderful news for the school and a moment for celebration. So many people contributed to making this happen for the academy this year: parents, students, faculty, and staff. Thank you all! We hope that this is only the first piece of wonderful news we will be announcing about next year and the future of this burgeoning academy: more to come soon, God willing! Our Lord is doing great things here in the heart of Tennessee and it is exciting to look forward to what He will do next!
